I am an artist currently living in Guantanamo Bay with my family. I create fine art ink illustrations of plants, predominantly working in black and white. Each piece is inspired by the beauty of the natural world and lovingly made by hand in my home studio. I wear the hats of both artist and mother and have found that mothering has helped me gain a new appreciation for the small every day moments.
My role as mother has led to working on an everchanging collaborative series with my daughters. These pieces are physical representations of where my identities of mother and artist intersect.
Their free watercolor marks and my many layered lines come together to form pieces that speak of connection, nature, and finding joy in the natural world.
